What I’m loving this week

I can’t believe it’s already October 22nd! This whole year has just flown by so far.

I think I’m going to make the “what I’m loving this week” posts into a series, so here’s the third installment! You can see what I was into last week and the week before here and here.

I went to TJ Maxx on Sunday to help Ben shop for new pants (he’s ripped two pairs in the past month) and I picked up a pair of leggings that look like they are actually fairly durable and not see-through while we were there. I wore them on Monday and they are soo soft and comfortable. They’re surprisingly warm too, which I think is because they are made of modal. These will definitely be a staple of mine throughout fall and winter. The brand name is pretty silly though.

I’m usually not a fan of spiced teas, mainly because I associate Good Earth with being sick as a child, but since I’m really into pumpkin stuff this season, I decided to try the Pumpkin Spice Rooibos from (surprise, surprise) Trader Joe’s. It’s delicious! Not too pumpkin-y, not too spiced, but still very flavorful. It’s the perfect afternoon tea, with just enough caffeine to get through the end of the day. I highly recommend trying it if you like tea!



One of my new favorite discoveries of late is the standing desk. I know that this isn’t a new concept, but it’s pretty new to me. My dad has been using one at his job for a few years now, not particularly because it’s better for his body but because he focuses better I think. However, using a standing desk is much better for your body than sitting down all day. Humans were built to move and walk and stand and squat, not to be sitting in a chair. The amount of time we sit nowadays contributes a lot to our sedentary lifestyle, so anything you can do to not be sitting is helpful. My boyfriend, Ben, is really the one who introduced me to the idea of using a standing desk. He uses an elevated folding table, but you can buy pre-made standing desks too. I use a makeshift one (see picture below) at least for an hour or two whenever I have desk shifts at work now. Standing desks are also really great for kids in school!
