I had no idea we were going to get snow this weekend when I went up to Tahoe with my best friends. We went up for a reunion of our old apartment, just to hang out and enjoy being somewhere other than where we live for a while.
I’ve only ever seen/been in the snow about 5 times before. I’m a California girl and my parents aren’t skiers, so snow trips weren’t a priority. This was the first snow of the season and it was unbelievably beautiful for me. I freaked out and danced around and made tiny snow balls and had a tiny snow ball fight with my friend Rachel. We stomped around in the powdery whiteness in inappropriate-for-snow clothing. My favorite thing about the snow is how it looks falling from the sky from below. I laid down next to the window on my back and looked at the snow for a long time. It’s just an infinite number of individual flakes falling so deep and thick from a smooth sky. I loved it.
It stopped snowing after a few hours, which was perfect because I didn’t want it to be snowy or icy when I had to drive home. We stayed inside and watched movies and got takeout Chinese food, which was perfect. It was an awesome weekend, in which I got none of my homework done, so that’s what I’ll be doing today.
