November Yogi Surprise Box Review

Yogi Surprise is a monthly subscription box that sends a “retreat in a box”;  full-sized and high-end yoga and health-related goodies for $45 a month (shipping included). I contacted them after learning about the box, and they were kind enough to give me a blogger deal! This was the first box I have received from Yogi Surprise.

I really like the packaging! Purple is my favorite color and it’s cool that they have information printed on the inside of the box. I was happy to see that they enclosed an information card. It detailed both the theme for the month (refilling your gratitude bucket) as well as all of the products in the box.

It’s cool that they put a little picture of each product next to the description, since it’s not always immediately apparent what is what. Upon perusal of my box, I discovered that the Golden Earth Chakra Wellness Oil wasn’t in my box. This was disappointing since it was the only thing I had seen in the spoilers and therefore was the only thing I knew I was getting. I emailed the company about this, asking if there was a reason it wasn’t included in my box and heard back within an hour. Jen, the customer enlightener, apologized, confirmed my address, and said she will be sending it to me on Monday! That’s really excellent customer service in my book, and I’m very happy they are willing to send it to me separately.

The items that were in my box were: Rawnola Heirloom Cacao Bar (~$2.49 retail), Hurraw! Vata Balm lip balm in Almond Cardamom Rose ($4.29), Valentina’s Home Brewed Sunny Outlook Natural Body Mist (~$7.99), Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Cedarwood and Juniper ($9.00), Sencha Green Tea Mints in Tropical Mango (~$4.00), Lush Nuts Coconut Lavender almonds($4.50), and Valentina’s Home Brewed Psychic Detox Bath Salts (~$8.50). I also received four Jo-Sha wipes in different scents (~$3.00).

The value I calculated for this month’s box (by Googling the products, Yogi Surprise didn’t include prices) was about $70 (once I get the Chakra Oil, which is worth $26). That’s a good value for the price!

All that said, I’m quite happy with the box! The items I’m most excited about after poking around and trying things are the Hurraw! lip balm and the Valentina’s Home Brewed body spray. The lip balm is so smooth and moisturizing and the flavor is amazing! It might be my new favorite lip balm, which is saying something considering I’m a die hard Burt’s Bees fan. The body spray, which can also be used as a room spray, has a really nice scent (mandarin, lemon, and ginger) and I really like that it’s all-natural/ doesn’t have any weird stuff like parabens and phthalates in it! I’ll be trying the deodorant and the almonds soon.

I will definitely use almost all of the things in my box (probably not the bath salt because I don’t have a bathtub right now), and I love that it introduced me to new companies I wouldn’t have known about otherwise, but I’m not sure if I will continue to subscribe right now because it’s a bit out of my price range. I think the box is awesome though, and would make a great gift!
