A Very Bleila Christmas

IMG_3459

Ben and I celebrated our third Christmas together yesterday! We had an awesome day: we walked the dogs at the park, we watched movies, napped, cooked, and opened presents!

It was a beautiful, clear day, and we all enjoyed frolicking around in the sun. Reggie and Stella met lots of nice dogs to sniff and play with.

Awesome view. I feel very lucky to call Napa my home.

It was too beautiful a day to not take tons of pictures. I loved the orange persimmons next to the dried thistles!

After our walk, we took a nap and watched Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Ben swore it was an awesome movie, and it was actually pretty cool). Then we opened champagne and opened presents!

Ben gave me these gorgeous candle holders! The one on the right is a pink salt crystal! He noticed that I love and have a lot of nice candles, but I don’t have very nice candle holders. So thoughtful and pretty πŸ™‚

I gave Ben a mandolin slicer and mortar & pestle, kitchen stuff that he didn’t have yet. He was very happy about them!

We went ham and Trader Joe’s and decided to make a rack of lamb for dinner. Paleo and fancy!

It was pre-marinated/coated in garlic and herbs and had the cooking directions on the package. It couldn’t have been easier (especially since we used my new meat thermometer!) and look at how beautifully it turned out!

The perfect celebratory dinner! Rack of lamb, mashed sweet potatoes, and roasted asparagus.

Ben & I always have a great time together, but I would have to say that yesterday was an especially nice day πŸ™‚
