January Julep Maven Box Review

I skipped my last few Julep boxes because I have a lot of nail polish now, but this month they had one that included their famous Plie Wand. For those of you that don’t know, Julep is a nail polish and beauty subscription box service. You can customize your preferences with a quiz, and when the monthly ordering window opens up (at the end of each month, for the following one) you can swap out shades and products from your box for even more customization! Julep Maven subscriptions run for $24.99 per month, or $19 if you pre-pay. You can also get your first box for 50% off right now with the code FROSTY50.

The box I picked this month is called “Like Mother Like Daughter,” which I like but don’t understand how it related to nail polish. This box was a $19 special for January.

I love that they included this J.K. Rowling quote! It says: “We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power inside of ourselves.”

Here are my polishes! Raegan is described as an “electric dark pink creme” and I’m so excited to try it out tomorrow! I’ll post pictures of how it turns out. Zelda, the other polish, is a pretty shimmery silver, but it’s really similar to another Julep polish I have, so it went in the gift stash.

I got an email a few weeks ago telling me that Julep would be including a Metamorphic Top Coat in Maven boxes if you followed a link and clicked to claim one. It was a free bonus, and it’s supposed to change the color of polishes underneath them. I got the Bjork version, and I’m so stoked to try it out! Thanks, Julep, it’s always nice to get extras!

The Plie wand is supposed to be revolutionary for painting nails, especially with your non-dominant hand. It adjusts to different angles and attaches to any of the Julep nail polish tops. I added on the Creativity Kit for $5 because I want to be able to do cool striping and dots and stuff.

This box also came with Holographic Chevron nail decals. I’m not sure when I’ll use these, but you never know. They also threw in some Junior Mints, along with allergy info! Sweet touch, pun intended.

I’m really excited to try out the Raegan pink with the Plie wand during my free afternoon tomorrow. Painting my nails is always a relaxing activity, and something to look forward to during a hectic week. I’m very happy with this box, but I’m also glad I don’t get it every month! About every 3 months is a good box rate for me, I think.

If you want to subscribe to Julep Maven, use my referral link here! Remember to use the code to get 50% off as well!

  1. The pink color is my favorite by far. It looks so pretty from inside the bottle…I’m sure it will look even better on. And J.K. Rowling quotes are always a plus. ♥ misstrinabina.wordpress.com
