Favorites of the Week: March 6th

Happy Friday! It’s going to be a beautiful, sunny weekend here in California.

This is going to be a combined post, because my favorite things this week were working out and some outfit-related things. My workouts this week were really good! I PR’d my deadlift, I’m at 165 lbs now. That felt great because I had been stuck at 155 for the last couple weeks. Ben & I tried a new lift today: the clean with added front squats. I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to lift, so we started low at 65.

It worked! It’s a fun lift, I think we’re going to incorporate it into our routine. Front-squatting this weight felt so light and easy.

After this, Ben and I spent about half an hour on me practicing trying to get into a handstand. It’s so hard! I have a mental block about launching myself upside down, which makes sense but I have to get over it somehow. I had a lot of fun trying though!

I’ve been proud of my outfit game this week! It’s been really lovely and sunny, which is fun to dress for after a while of sweaters. I love this skirt so much! It’s a fully lined, flowy maxi from Pop Basic and it’s great! I wore it for my choir concert over the weekend as my blue accent.

Today is a more low-key jeans and tshirt outfit, but I’m still putting some extra effort in by wearing a necklace :p

I’m excited that it’s March! It’s both Ben’s birthday and our (third!) anniversary this month, which makes it extra fun. Ben and I had a nice lunch out in the arboretum on Wednesday, and he decorated me with shamrocks. We didn’t find any four leaf ones though 😦 I think I’m going to make my own corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day this year! I find it to be a surprisingly tasty meal, considering it’s fermented meat, which just sounds weird.

I hope everyone has a great & relaxing weekend!
